"Forsythia" - An Anticipation of an Exciting Moment!
Only four days ago, on March 8, 2016, while looking for a file, I happened upon two copies of a 5-part vision that God had given to me, one year ago to the very date: March 8, 2015. The 2015 vision came after I asked God to give me a vision specifically for my church. Now that an entire year to the day had past, I wanted to know if anything had changed, or if there was a new message that God wanted our church to have. So I began to pray. On March 9, I received a vision in 8 parts.
1. I see a plate in front of me, with a small piece left over from a sandwich. A hand comes in front of me and takes the piece off the plate. As I am viewing the vision, I think to myself, “I guess if you want to share this with someone else, it’s all right with me.”
2. I see a young child’s hand reach into my black bag and pull out the 9 of Clubs.
3. I hear stitches in a seam being ripped apart.
4. I see a flurry of movement and activity in the background, and suddenly a clear glass of water appears. As the water settles, the glass is only 1/3 full.
5. I see a small dancer dressed in red and white, with her hair in a bun. She enters the church through the front door by the cafe and closes it behind her. She stands next to the door waiting.
6. It is early spring; there are dead leaves on the ground. I see a patch of blue flowers in front of me to the left, and red flowers to the right. There is not a bit of green anywhere. Then I hear a voice saying “forsythia,” but I look around, and do not see any at all.
7. I simply see a small rubber band that would be used with braces for the teeth.
8. I see an old man with a white beard and mustache, driving through a town in a truck style camper. He is driving fairly fast and is completely unaware that the entire back wall of his camper is dragging on the ground behind him.
Now to interpret the pieces of the vision:
Bread - When I see the sandwich, I realize that it is a sandwich that did not make myself. I was at a restaurant treating myself. Perhaps I could have finished the sandwich, but God took the piece away. I believe He wants us to share our food with the hungry. I am reminded of an earlier vision He gave me about feeding children, (meeting people’s physical needs); as well as the passage when Jesus said to Peter, “Feed my sheep”, (meeting people’s spiritual needs).
The 9 of Clubs - The number 9 can represent “completion” as Jesus died in the ninth hour and declared, “It is finished.” The number 9 can also represent the nine fruits of the Spirit. But because this is a 9 on a card, it represents something altogether different. The number 9 is the lowest card in the game of Pinochle. And, clubs is the lowest suit, in the game of Bridge. So we have the lowest of the low – humility.
The sound of stitches ripped - is a different sound than fabric that is being torn. When stitches are ripped out, it is a deliberate action. It is the action of taking apart, or separating. If it were the sound of tearing, it might mean “judgment.” For example, God tore Saul’s kingdom out of his hands and gave it to David. It could mean “division,” as in war tearing a nation apart. However, I believe that in this message, the Lord wants us to make a deliberate decision to separate from the world's values and ways.
“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?” 2 Cor. 6:14
“Come out and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” 2 Cor. 6:17
The clear glass of water was only 1/3 full. This vision I have prayed about the most. Perfectly clear water represents purity and godliness. The scripture I believe God is showing me is: “Blessed are those that hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”
Little Dancer - I knew right away what God was showing me in the vision of the little dancer. Years ago, God gave me a vision of a dance. The dancers in the vision were dancing to a song that came out of the Brownsville revival: “We will break dividing walls… in the name of your Son, … and we will be one!”In this vision, (about 1997-8), half of the dancers dressed in white and other half dressed in red. They fought with each other using a long sticks. They snubbed each other and showed their contempt. But in the end, each of the girls took off her pinafore, and placed it on a girl of the opposite color, and began to danced together arm in arm. By giving their pinafores to each other, they became unified, all dressed in red and white. The little dancer in my vision, represents the unity.
The vision of blue and red flowers - the Biblical meaning of blue can be “truth and God.” The red represents “bloodshed, war, sin and sinfulness.” The blue and red flowers in the vision are distinctly separated. Green can mean life and newness. But in the vision I noticed right away that there was no green at all. In the vision, the voice spoke, “forsythia,” yet, there was no forsythia. Forsythia is the color yellow, which represents “gold”, or “something of great worth.” When I looked on the internet, for the meaning of “forsythia,” it said “anticipation of an exciting moment.” Years ago, when our churches were experiencing a great out pouring of God's Holy Spirit, many saw gold dust and some were blessed with gold teeth and gold fillings - signs of God’s visitation.
The small rubber band- this small band is used with orthodontic braces. It signifies restraint, holding back, training, aligning, moving into proper position, pulling together and closing gaps. I believe that this goes with all the visions above. God is drawing people’s hearts together – to be in one accord – to be in unity! When the disciples were in one accord, they experienced the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. I believe that the “anticipation of an exciting moment,” is God’s holy visitation!
God is showing us the things that he wants us to see, to change, to make note of, and to expect. To summarize, He wants us to share our bread with the hungry, to humble ourselves before the Lord and to rid ourselves of spiritual pride. He wants us to separate from the world's values and to hunger and thirst for righteousness. He wants us to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to live in unity and the bond of peace. We must confess our sin (red flowers) and be reconciled to God (blue flowers). This will bring the new life that was not seen (green) and that in turn will cause us to "anticipate an exciting moment," (forsythia,) - God's Holy Visitation (gold). So, when we unite in purpose, and align ourselves with God's will, we will see revival in our land.
Finally, the last vision is quite different than the others. The vision of the man driving the RV is meant to be taken as a warning. The man driving the truck-camper is completely unaware that he is dragging the back end of his camper on the ground. and causing great damage to what he values. The man is very busy, very focused, going his own way, doing his own thing. His white hair, symbolizes wisdom and knowledge, yet for the moment he lacks both. What is so apparent, is that he has no rear guard. Isaiah 58 speaks of God's expectation, his correction, and his promise to be our rear guard:
"Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the house of Jacob their sins. For day after day they seek me out; they seem eager to know my ways, as if they were a nation that does what is right and has not forsaken the commands of its God. They ask me for just decisions and seem eager for God to come near them. `Why have we fasted,' they say, `and you have not seen it? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you have not noticed?'"
"Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please and exploit all your workers. Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife, and in striking each other with wicked fists. You cannot fast as you do today and expect your voice to be heard on high. Is this the kind of fast I have chosen, only a day for a man to humble himself? Is it only for bowing one's head like a reed and for lying on sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you call a fast, a day acceptable to the LORD?"
"Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter-- when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?"
"Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I."If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail."
"Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings. "If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight and the LORD's holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, then you will find your joy in the LORD, and I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob." The mouth of the LORD has spoken.
In summary, I believe God is preparing us for a holy visitation. He is drawing us together, building unity, that we will be one, just as it was in the early church. He is asking us to truly humble ourselves, allowing the Lord, to be lord, and placing others needs and interests before our own. He is asking us to share our material possessions with those less fortunate, and our food with the hungry; to separate ourselves from the things of the world that would capture our hearts and demand our loyalty. We have to separate from anything that takes us from him. He wants our hearts to hunger and thirst for righteousness, so that we will be filled with his Holy Spirit. These are things that we must do in preparation for "the exciting moment that we are greatly anticipating!” We have been praying for revival now for a very long time. God wants to visit us, we have to get ready. It truly is exciting! What good news! Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
