Black Seeds and an Extension Cord

Hi Everyone,

I am going to share two visions that the Lord has given me recently.  It concerns the schemes of the wicked one and the power of the Holy Spirit.  These are two visions that were given back to back, so I believe that we should view them together.  The Lord does not leave us powerless against the enemy’s schemes.  We have the power of the Holy Spirit to thwart and to overcome every plan and evil intention of the enemy.

The Visions:

The Black Seeds on a White Ground

I saw many black seeds arranged to form a 9” circle.  The seeds were about ¼” in diameter, about the size of popcorn kernels.  The seeds were placed on a white surface as a layer about ½” in height.  All of the seeds remained within the 9” circle, as if they were contained, not allowed to spill out further onto the white surface.

This first vision that I am sharing is very similar to a vision the Lord gave me years ago, and which I shared in a post entitled:  “Divisive Plans Against the Church and Our Nation.”  They both feature black seeds.  In both visions the black seeds represent lies that the enemy plants in the minds of people in order to influence their thoughts, their beliefs about what is true  and their decisions that result.

The Lord has two major parables about seeds.  In “The Parable of the Sower,” (Matthew 13:1-23), the seed is the Word of God that is shared with people in a variety of circumstances that cause the seed, to either take root, grow and bring forth a bountiful harvest, or to fail to take root, neither growing nor maturing.

In “The Parable of the Weeds,” (Matthew 13:24-30 & 36-43) the seed is the Word of God as before. The Master plants the good seed, but an enemy (the devil) comes in and sows weeds in the field. The Master instructs his servants to allow the weeds to grow alongside the good seed. When harvest time comes, the workers are to gather the weeds, tie them in bundles and burn them, and then gather the crop that was produced by the good seed, and bring it into the barn. The Lord tells us that the angels are the harvesters and the weeds are those who do not believe, but are taken away and burned, (cast into hell). You can see by this parable how important it is to believe in Jesus, the Messiah, for he is God.

In both these parables the seed is what is good and that ideally it is sown on good soil and will produce a great crop, 100 times that which was sown.  The crop that the Lord is expecting is the harvest of souls for the kingdom of God. The Lord wants us to be fruitful and faithful!

In the two visions that I was given, the seeds are black, not a light natural color as most seeds.

Black is used in the Bible to refer to death, disease and everything having to do with wickedness and evil.  The seeds are lies that the devil and his demons plant in our minds to distort the truth, to justify sin, to cause people to take action against God’s will, or accept beliefs, doctrines and ideologies that oppose the  Word of God, the Word of Truth.

In the recent vision, the black seeds were confined to the shape of a circle.  The circle, as a two-dimensional shape, uses the shortest line (the circumference) to encompass the maximum area.   The cylinder, a three-dimensional shape, encompasses and houses the greatest volume with the least amount of surface area. Both shapes are efficient and effective for a variety of purposes.  The black seeds were not in a simple one layer arrangement, but were actually “contained” in a very flat cylinder that was a mere ½” in height. Of course, I could not see any container, but merely a flat white surface and the seeds restrained in the circle to a depth of ½”.

The white surface represents the domain of God’s authority.  The black seeds were not allowed to spill out over the surface, as would happen naturally at the edge, when there is more than a single layer of seeds.

Who or what restrains wickedness?  It is God and his authority that restrains evil.  The devil must have permission to be allowed to operate in a person’s life. The best example of this is the story of Job.

There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job, and that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil. There were born to him seven sons and three daughters. He possessed 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, and 500 female donkeys, and very many servants, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the east. His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. The LORD said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” And the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason? Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.” And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.

Now there was a day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, and there came a messenger to Job and said, “The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them, and the Sabeans fell upon them and took them and struck down the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, “The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, “The Chaldeans formed three groups and made a raid on the camels and took them and struck down the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, “Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, and behold, a great wind came across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young people, and they are dead, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”

In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.  Job 1:1-22

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them to present himself before the LORD. And the LORD said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” And the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil? He still holds fast his integrity, although you incited me against him to destroy him without reason.” Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “Skin for skin! All that a man has he will give for his life. But stretch out your hand and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face.” And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand; only spare his life.”

So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and struck Job with loathsome sores from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. And he took a piece of broken pottery with which to scrape himself while he sat in the ashes.

Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die.” But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.”  Job 1 and 2:1-10

We see that the devil had to report to the Lord, along with the “sons of God,” on these two occasions.  We also see that the devil was restrained to not touch his body on the first occasion, and then not allowed to take Job’s life on the second occasion.

The devil had no proof of Job’s wrong doing so he had no reason to accuse him. The devil is called “the accuser of the brethren,” (Revelation 12:10). Without sin, the devil had no access to him. He told the Lord that he had kept a hedge around Job and his house and possessions so that no one could touch them. So, the devil incited the Lord to arouse Job’s “real intentions,” by suggesting that he pleased God only because he was blessed. But now the Lord lifted his hand of protection from Job to allowed the devil to test his faith through affliction.

We can see that Job’s wife, when experiencing the exact circumstances, did not pass the test of faith.  She, like many people who do not fear God, said to Job: “Do you still hold fast your integrity?  Curse God and die!”

What we learn from this story is that the devil must have permission to gain access to us.  So how does this happen?   It happens when we break God’s commands - by sin, by curses spoken over us, by generational sin and by the testing of our faith.

The Test of Faith

The story of Job illustrates the devil’s access to us as a test of faith.

The word of God says:

“Everyone will be salted with fire.”  Mark 9:49

“Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.” Revelation 2:10

Everyone’s faith will be tested through some type of trial.  Just as gold is purified by fire, the testing of our faith will purify our hearts and solidify our trust in God alone.  If we remain true to God and not deny him in the trial, we will be victorious and receive the victor’s crown. Or we could fail the test of faith, compromising our love for God in favor of going along with the world’s view. Will we try to save our lives and appease man in order to avoid persecution? By doing so, we give up what is most precious— salvation and everlasting life with our Lord. We choose to settle for our short earthly existence, and eternal damnation.

Gaining Access Through Sin

The most common way to open the door to the devil and his demons is through sin. When we sin, we are breaking God’s law or his commands.  God warned the Israelites that there were blessings for those who keep His law and there were curses for those who break His law. Deuteronomy 28: 1-14 lists the many blessing of God and verses 15-68 pronounce all the many curses that we receive when we are disobedient to His commands.

Thank the Lord that Jesus became a curse as he hung on the cross (the tree).

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree”—(Deuteronomy 21-23) Galatians 3:13

By becoming a curse for us, the curses that would come upon us through sin can now be broken through repentance. Hallelujah!

An Example

Judas is an example of sin’s ability to open the door to the devil. Judas betrayed the Son of God to the religious leaders for thirty pieces of silver, as was prophesied by the prophet Zechariah:

And the LORD said to me, “Throw it to the potter"—the handsome price at which they valued me! So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them to the potter at the house of the LORD. Zechariah 11:13

Coming with those that intended to arrest him, Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss. What a heartless act of treachery! This demonstrated to all that Judas was void of a conscience. He had no respect for life, and was dead in his spirit.  He was not able to recognize Jesus as the Messiah, the Son of God, nor did he have the fear of God.

He had opened the door to sin, earlier in his relationship with the Lord and his disciples. Judas held the purse, and so it was that he helped himself to its funds.  He had already proven to be a thief, greedy and without shame or remorse.  The demonic powers were already working in him because of this open door.

Then on the night he betrayed Jesus, the Bible says that the devil entered him.

“As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.”  John 13:27

We all can open the door to demons when we sin and do not repent.

“Be angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun set upon your anger, and do not give the devil a foothold. Ephesians 4:26

If we do not ask for the Lord’s forgiveness, but allow our anger to remain, we give the devil an open door. It is so important to forgive right away, otherwise anger turns into resentment, and bitterness takes root. Our thoughts turn dark and bitter. So when we refuse to forgive an offense, we become spiritually bound.

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive yours.” Matthew 6:14-15

Once a demon takes up residence, the desire to sin greatly increases.  Eventually, the conscience becomes unresponsive and there is nothing to restrain the wickedness of the demonic spirit. The person becomes a puppet of the demon who torments him and pull his strings.

In the case of believers, we have the Holy Spirit that resides within us. When we sin the Holy Spirit convicts our hearts of wrongdoing and causes us to experience godly sorrow, so that we repent and look to God for his forgiveness.  Thank the Lord that he awakes our spirit when we are born again. We are then able to respond to the leading of the Holy Spirit who reveals truth and helps us in our weaknesses.

Yet, if we ignore The Holy Spirit’s promptings, and his warnings, choosing to sin, we grieve him.  He will try again and again to persuade us to repent.  But if we ignore his urging, and go on our own way, then the door stays open, and the invitation is there for the demons to come.

We believe that the demons cannot possess a believer that is filled with the Holy Spirit.   But a believer can be oppressed.  In this case, the demons are not IN the person, but they continue to hang around and cause trouble. They deceive the believer so that the truth is confusing, and things begin to go wrong. Sickness, financial problems, relational issues, lying, cheating stealing, addictions, outbursts of anger, depression, self-condemnation, promiscuity, infidelity, divorce, and hateful acts of wickedness towards oneself and others becomes habitual.

Jesus referred to satan as the thief:

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”  John 10:10

A believer that is not truly living for God, nor reading the Bible is much more lax with regards to sin.  He does not understand the fear of God, for he does not know God.  He is more easily tempted by demons, who are always around, watching our actions and adding their commentary.  Demons cast doubts and confuse the mind so as to consider sin, “a wise choice” or a “well deserved indulgence.”  An uncommitted believer can easily justify sin when there is a suggestion that it isn’t really sin, and that no one is hurt by it, and no one will really care about it.

There is nothing new about the tactics of the devil and his demons. Whatever brings him success, he will continue to do over and over again.

Gaining Access through Generational Sin

We as individuals open the door to the devil through our personal sin. But sometimes there is sin in the family that affects others in the household, and follows from one generation to another.

”You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.” Deuteronomy 5:9-10

There are sins which pass from one generation to another. This curse that the Lord pronounced so many thousands of years ago is still in effect. When one individual sins and there is no repentance, the door remains open to demonic influence. This continuum is not broken until someone in the family returns to God with a repentant heart. With declarations of allegiance to God, and renunciations of allegiance to the devil and wickedness, the curse can be broken. People can be set free of the curses and sins of the past generations. We can break these curses, because Jesus made a way by his blood and his death on a cross to allow us to be forgiven of our sins, and reconciled to the Father.

So when we see patterns of behaviors, thoughts and events that seem to repeat and are negative, condemning or harmful, there may very well be an open door to the enemy. When this is the case, deliverance is undeniably the answer.  Jesus is the deliverer. And today, we are called to do as he did. Jesus sends us today as he sent out his disciples saying:

“As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.” Matthew 10:7-8

The Power Cord

In the second vision, I saw a person holding the plug of an electrical extension cord, inserting the  tips of the plug into the electrical outlet.  The extension cord was white, so I believe that it represents God’s supernatural power that he imparts to us through the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. White represents purity, holiness, and righteousness.  His  power comes to those who yield themselves to the Lord and allow his power and anointing to flow through them. We become a vessel or a conduit of his power.

The electrical outlet represents the source of power.  It is called an outlet because the power flows out.  The cord is able to carry the power to a more remote place a few feet to several yards away.  The Lord would have us be available for his use.  We are his disciples, and just like the disciples of the first century, we are to do the very same things that he did.

“Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing.  He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.  And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it.”  John 14:12-14

The Lord expects us to do greater things because he has filled us with his Holy Spirit.  And if we are truly yielded to his purpose, he will give us the greater infilling and anointing of the Holy Spirit that comes with the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.  Just as John the Baptist had declared to his followers:

“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”  Matthew 3:11

The disciples were instructed to wait in Jerusalem for what the Lord had promised them.  This promise came on the Feast on Pentecost, when they received the power and the anointing with  the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. And when this sound rang out, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking his own language.

Astounded and amazed, they asked, “Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans? How is it then that each of us hears them in his own native language? Parthians, Medes, and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome, both Jews and converts to Judaism; Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”  Acts 2:1-11

The power of God was evident.  This day was the day the church was born.  After Peter told the crowd what this display of power was all about, the Bible records that “3000 were added to their number that day.”

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise belongs to you and your children and to all who are far off—to all whom the Lord our God will call to Himself.”

With many other words he testified, and he urged them, “Be saved from this corrupt generation.” Those who embraced his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to the believers that day.   Acts 2:38-41

So even today, the power to do signs, wonders and miracles is given to us so that others will believe that Jesus is God.  When we share the gospel or pray in the name of Jesus, The Lord responds with healing or provision, so that his name is praised and honored and the message of the gospel is validated.

I believe that the Lord has shown me this vision because he wants us to move in his power, so that others can plug in and receive that same power.  Isn’t that what an extension cord is for, to extend power to places and people who have not been reached with the gospel of peace?  As we share the gospel and pray with others, the Lord’s power will be released through us for the benefit of all who see and hear and experience his goodness.  We should expect and anticipate God’s power displayed in healing, deliverance and supernatural provision.

“Not by might nor by power but by My Spirit” says the Lord Almighty.  Zechariah 4:6

The Lord gives us everything we need to do his will. He gives us his power, his authority, his sword (The Word of God), his armor, his commands, his instructions and the keys to the kingdom.  He equips us with everything we need including  his supernatural faith, by which we can move mountains!

I have covered each one of these things the Lord uses to equip us, in earlier posts.  The Lord is all about empowering us to do his will.  All we have to do is say “Yes, yes, Lord, send me!”

Please share this message with others so that they will understand more about the Lord and his will for us to accomplish his purposes on this earth!

God bless you!
