Two Pilots - A Polarized Nation

Hi Everyone,

I began writing this Tuesday, the day of our national election.  And we are still rejoicing today for the Lord heard our prayers!  We have been praying for years now that our nation would return to the Lord.   And that the Lord would not give us the president that we deserve, but one who aligns more closely with God’s Biblical values.   We continue to pray that God would remove from office those who care nothing for our nation, and care nothing for the Lord.  We know that no one is perfect, but we pray that our president will have many encounters with the Lord.  We pray that  he will not lean on his own understanding but will acknowledge the Lord in all his ways, for then God will direct his path!

Our founding fathers wished to have no earthly king, for God Almighty was and still is our king.  We have a president who is to serve the people of our nation, not Lord it over us.  It is only by consent of the people that our president and our governing bodies make and enforce the laws of our land.  Our judicial branch of the government was to be free of political loyalties or pressure by having lifetime terms of office.  They sit to make judgments in accordance with the law and the  Constitution.  We have a fair and just government as long as we have God-fearing men and women in power.  But money corrupts.  Bad associations corrupt.  And the sinful nature corrupts.

So, we ask the Lord today –

Please Lord, guard our nation from all ungodly influences that lead us away from you and corrupt our nation.  Lord, we ask that you instill in our leaders’ hearts  a desire to serve you and our nation and our people.  Lord, we ask that you place in office people who are committed to supporting the family unit, marriage, and the sanctity of life.   We pray that you, Lord, will uphold the innocent in court and that those who have broken the law will be treated fairly, with proper representation, and speedily as our Constitution declares it to be.  We pray that you will raise up statesmen that support peace over war, men and women that are honorable and will not accept bribes or jepardize the security of our nation.

We trust in you Lord, and ask that you bring a spiritual revival to our country.  We need you now, more than ever.  Please forgive us, and our nation and its leaders for the sins we have committed against you.  Please restore us to yourself, and to the Father.  We want our nation to be filled with people who love and respect each other and who will surrender their hearts and lives to you.  Help us to return to your ways, for you are good, and you said, “Be holy, for I am holy!”

Lord, we freely give ourselves to you this day.  Use us as you will, for we are not our own, we were bought at a price!  With your blood, you purchased us.  We belong to you!  We ask that you place in office God-fearing men and women that will serve faithfully as servants in our government, and in our government agencies.  Please keep us from war, and help us to promote peace around the world.  Bless Israel and be a shield around her and around our country too.

Help our nation and our people to be faithful and obedient to you and to the laws of our land.  Fill us all with your Holy Spirit and help us to be a blessing to all the nations of the earth!  Amen!

I am sharing two visions with you today:

The Visions

The Straight Pin

In this vision, I saw a tiny straight pin stuck upright into a block of wood.  A straight pin is used in sewing to hold two or more pieces of fabric together.  It certainly has no useful purpose in connection to wood.hardly fitting to be used for any purpose related to wood.  A nail, a screw or some type of fastener is the proper thing to use to hold wood together.  So this vision represents something that does not work, a combination of things, people or circumstances that simply do not work well together.

I believe that this vision was given first as an introduction to the second vision, pointing out the errors or things that don’t work together.

The Pilots

In this second vision I saw the cockpit of a commercial airplane or jet. The pilot seated in the left hand chair, nearest the door was the co-pilot.  He was facing the controls and was doing his pre-fight routine.  There was a black curtain separating the left seat from the rest of the cockpit.  Suddenly, the captain comes from behind the curtain.  There are no words exchanged between the co-pilot and himself.  All I see is his head lift up as he comes through the curtain.  The co-pilot wears a white shirt and the captain is fully dressed in a navy blue uniform and wearing his cap.

Now, what is the Lord showing us by this vision?

In the vision, the co-pilot was sitting on the left which is usually reserved for the Captain.  Why was he in the Captain’s chair?  Was the Captain sick, missing, taking a nap behind the curtain?  Was there a change in leadership?

Secondly, why would there be a curtain between the two seats?  How could either of them see all the controls?  How could they share the central section of controls, if the curtain was draping across them?  How could they communicate effectively with a curtain that acted as a barrier?  How could they taxi the plane to the runway with such a blind spot?

There are obviously many problems presented in this vision.  I believe that there are two applications to this vision: first for the nation with its two main political highly polarized groups, and secondly for us as individuals relating to God and to others.

What does not work in our nation?   What does not work in our personal lives?  Are we misaligned with the world instead of aligned with God and his Word?  Are there barriers between ourselves and God, or ourselves and our family, neighbors and co-workers?  Let us stop and think, where are there conflicts?  Have we compromised our principles?  Are there boundary issues?  Are there authority issues? Is there a lack of trust?  A hint of jealousy or envy?  Could pride be a root cause of a conflict?  Is there disappointment or betrayal?  Perhaps we simply  have different goals and different purposes.

The Lord asks us to be content in all circumstances (Philippians 4:11-13) and to live at peace with all men as much as it depends upon us. (Romans 12:18)  Can we prefer one another over ourselves? (Philippians 2:3)  The Lord gives us the answer in his “Golden Rule.”

“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”  Matthew 7:12

For now, let us put aside our personal conflicts and look to the Lord for a solution to our nation and what makes it not work well.  We are certainly polarized.  We need to pray to resolve these conflicts for the well-being of our country.  We need the Lord to create a willing heart and a cooperative spirit within our leaders to deal with the problems that our nation faces.

We must remember the Lord’s words:

“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.”  Matthew 12:25

The vision of the two pilots were separated by a black curtain, which I believe represents sin and evil.  The pilots cannot possibly work together with such a barrier in place.  The pilots represent the two camps of political power. We can see that one group represents people that align themselves with the worldview, and are willing to submit our nation to the authority of other international groups, like the United Nations, the World Health Organization and the wealthy global elite.  The other group sees America as a separate sovereign nation that only submits to God rather than foreign powers or entities.  The one group sets its eyes on playing a role with world leaders in a  worldwide government, and the other on serving its own people and God Almighty.  I understand this is a very simplified view of a complex structure of people, entities and relationships.  But my desire is to see things from God’s perspective and what He is communicating to us.

Our country was dedicated to the Lord, in NYC which was at one time the nation’s capitol.  The devil wants to destroy anything that is submitted to God.  He and those aligned with him are driven to rid themselves of the newly re-elected president.  The devil has sent his assassins, yet God’s plans have prevailed.  The left continues their attacks with false accusations, and many lawsuits.  What is next?  Impeachment?  They have a global agenda to break patriotism in America.  A strong America stands in the way of the establishment of a global government and their preferred currency.  But we stand with God.  He is our strength, our refuge and our mighty right arm!  He fights our battles.  He will win the war, for he is victorious, and he wants us to overcome the plans and devices of the wicked one.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.  If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.  If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.  This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”  John 15:5-8

So we pray for our leaders, that they will have a change of heart, devote themselves to the Lord and serve our people with a cooperative spirit. The Lord has given us instructions regarding what we need to do in order to see a change in our nation and its people.  When there is discord and turmoil in our nation, we look to the Lord:

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14

God has given us free will to serve him or to serve ourselves. As a nation we have sinned to the point where even Sodom and Gomorrah would blush!

Lord forgive us Lord, forgive our nation!  We are seeking your kindness and your mercy.  We choose to repent, to change our minds, and turn away from the pointing finger, blame, slander and every evil thought and action.  We choose to live for you, surrendering our wills to yours.  Please restore our nation to where it was originally.  Our leaders were God-fearing men who “pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor” to free themselves of a tyrannical government, and to dedicate our nation to you.  Please restore our land and help us all to acknowledge that you alone sit on the throne as King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

Rather than list our gross offenses against God and our people, I would like to phrase things in prayer.  So please, enter into prayer with me for our country.

Lord, please forgive us for not standing up to protect your Word in the public sector, for allowing the Ten Commandments to be removed from the walls and halls of our public buildings.  Forgive us for not standing up to those who wanted to remove the Bible from our library shelves and out of conversation or study in our schools.  (Note: the Bible was at one time the primary resource for teaching reading, ethics, and respect for God and authority.)

Lord help us to embrace, cherish and teach our Christian values to our children and our children’s children.  Help us to not focus on fear, hatred, and racism as the media would have us do, but help us to promote goodwill and respect for all.  Help us to love what you love and hate what you hate.

We ask that you remove from influence those who promote distrust and disunity in order to divide and polarize our nation.

We pray that our borders would be closed to every evil plan to weaken the sovereignty of our country.  We pray that our borders would be closed to human smuggling, human trafficking, drugs, violent criminals, terriorists, cartels, drugs and the invasion of non-vetted military aged males.

We pray that those who have come to our nation would take on our Christian values and find honest work for the glory of God.

We pray that our nation would not enter into any treaty with foreign governments or agencies that would submit our nation to rules that deny or diminish our sovereignty.  We pray that no treaty would be made with the World Health Organization, or treaties such as the Green Deal, the Iran Nuclear Deal, or with bad actors and nations that want to restrain American’s power with no intent to curb their own untoward activities.

We pray that there will be no further cooperation between the scientists and bio-engineers of our nation with those of foreign countries which seek to enhance viruses and other harmful biological weapons to use against mankind.

We pray that the economic policies of our nation that have caused inflation and hindered competition will be changed.  We pray that those in positions of power who are self-serving or have agreed with global elites and foreign powers to undermine the value of the dollar would be removed from office and their agreements nullified.

We pray that the pipeline will be reopened and there will be a return of jobs to those who lost them by the stroke of an executive pen.  We pray that we would be energy independent once again and that our reserves would be replenished.

We pray that our nation would pass and ratify a marriage amendment that states that marriage is between one man and one woman.

We pray that the laws and policies that have usurped parental authority and the need for parental  consent with regards to sex changing drugs, and abortion would be immediately stricken from the books.  We pray that parental authority would be respected and that the teaching of homosexuality and the perversions of sex would not be taught in our schools.  We pray that ideologies that are harmful to our nation would not be embraced and taught in our schools, universities and the military.

We pray that sports and other competitive activities that separate male and female because of innate physical and hormonal differences that exist between the sexes would not be forced to accept transgender athletes who have a competitive edge over others because of the changes they have undergone.

We pray for new guidelines and laws to be enacted that protect the American people from the unhealthy foods that are marketed to children.  We pray that the organizations that create guidelines for “lifestyle diseases” would change from “managing” the disease, to curing the disease with more stringent and truthful statements.  We pray that nutrition would be taught in our schools and in our medical schools.  Lord help our people to be educated about food choices and their effects on health and disease.

Lord, we pray that vaccinations would not be mandated by any government agency or any private entity.  We pray that people will not be disenfranchised by refusing to be vaccinated. We pray that those who have already undergone vaccinations and now suffer with various ailments, weaknesses and autism will be healed in the name of Jesus.

We pray that abortion will be made illegal in all 50 states.

We pray that those in the news media will not see their roles as political and social influencers rather than simply conveying the news without bias.

We pray that the youth will value their connection with God and their families more than their smart-phones and social media.  We pray that they will take their cues from the Word of God rather than the world and its views. We pray that all people will accept their God-given identity and see that they are God’s creation, fearfully and wonderfully made.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11

Help us Lord to be steadfast in our faith, in prayer and in reading and studying the Word of God.  We pray that we would be a witness to those around us and that you rightfully reign in our lives.  Help us to understand and believe that with you Lord, all things are possible.  Help us to speak your word for we know it will not return void but will accomplish the task for which it is sent.   We declare that “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!”  Amen!

Let us make a commitment to honor God and stay the course.  Let us be people of integrity, who do what they say.  Let us speak the truth in love, and pray for those who lie or mislead people with half-truths, for all liars are destined to hell and we want no one to go there!

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”  Revelation 21:8

So let’s be reminded of the bigger picture and what is truly important.

“For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?”  Mark 8:36

There will come a day when our faith and commitment to God will be tested.  Each generation must choose for themselves whether to follow God or follow their own passions, dreams and goals. But If we fail to teach our children to know and trust in the Lord, one day, our children or grandchildren may demand a leader that opposes the Christian faith, and denies Jesus is God and Lord.  Jesus warned his disciples that those who believe in his name will be persecuted.

If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first.  If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.  John 15:18-19

The ideologies that are being taught in our schools will certainly lead to persecution, for they are in direct opposition to our Christian faith.  When persecution comes our faith will be tested.  It is important now to build ourselves up in our most holy faith so that we are prepared for the day of testing. If we do not have a strong relationship with the Lord and know his word, we could easily cave into the demands of unbelievers, and deny the Lord.  So let us pray for our faith to not fail.  Let us pray for those who are at this moment going through the fiery trials.  We pray that their faith will not fail.  Jesus asked:

“But when the Son of Man returns, will he find faith on the earth?”  Luke 18:8

What we truly need right now is a nation wide revival. We want to see more and more people leave their lives of sin and come into the knowledge of Christ, to know him as their savior and to trust him as a friend.

In all this, we have to be careful not to be self-righteous, and fail to see our own sins.  If we point the finger of blame, yet fail to see that we do the same things, then God will hold us accountable.  Instead we should realize that everyon sins, and everyone needs to repent.

“For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”  Romans 3:23

So we pray for all people, for leaders, and those in authority as well as those we dislike or who hate us and slander us:

“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,”  Matthew 5:44

Jesus asks us to forgive all people, regardless of circumstances. When he was crucified he prayed to the Father saying:

“Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”  Luke 23:34

We can have peace and healing for our nation if we simply choose this day to repent of our sins and the sins of our nation and surrender our lives and our wills to God.  It is God’s will that we pray for our leaders and the authorities:

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.  This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.  For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.  1 Timothy 2:1-6

Thanks for reading.  Please share this with those who have a heart for people and will pray on behalf of our nation and the nations around the world.  God bless you!
