Everything Will Be Shaken

Hi Friends,

These are two visions that I received just before New Years Eve. I believe these bring a message of warning to everyone. Please read this entire post, for at the end is a prayer that you can pray to get right with God and receive his free gift of salvation and eternal life with him.

The Shaker Lids

I saw a large number of clean clear plastic shaker lids that are for various size spice jars.  They were lying on a clean white surface.  There were no bottles or jars nor their cover lids.  Only the perforated shaker lids were seen.

I believe that the vision is about a shaking that will take place soon. There are many passages of scripture that speak of God shaking the heavens and the earth in judgment— so that what cannot be shaken will remain.

See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven.  At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, ‘Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.’  This phrase, ‘Yet once more,’ indicates the removal of things that are shaken—that is, things that have been made—in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain.  Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:25-29

In this passage we see that the shaking is a shaking of all things that are made, not created by God. It is the shaking that will take place at the end of the age, when Jesus returns to destroy his enemies and to begin his millennial reign. In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells his disciples that there will be a shaking of the heavenly bodies at the end of the age:

“Immediately after the distress of those days: ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’

“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.  And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.” Matthew 24:29-30

In this passage, it says: “after the stress of those days,” referring to the great tribulation, the heavenly bodies will be shaken. There is no doubt that the Lord is speaking of the end of the age, for the sun and the moon are darkened and the stars fall from the sky. Then the sign of the Son of Man will be seen and every eye will see see him coming in the clouds.

In the following passage, the shaking that is described is a shaking of the heavens, the earth and all nations. It also describes the shaking that will take place at the end of the age. However, it comes as a prophetic statement after his encouraging remarks to Zerubbabel and Joshua regarding the rebuilding of the temple. It was written around 520 BC. However, the last two sentences below refer to a temple not yet built, for the one under construction in 520 BC was destroyed in 70 AD.

“‘Be strong, all you people of the land, declares the Lord. Work, for I am with you, declares the Lord of hosts, according to the covenant that I made with you when you came out of Egypt. My Spirit remains in your midst.  Fear not.  For thus says the Lord of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land.  And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts.  The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the Lord of hosts.  The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, declares the Lord of hosts.’”  Haggai 2:4-9

And again, in this passage, we see the time of Christ’s second coming when he will shake the nations and destroy his enemies. This passage includes a reference to a possible third temple in Jerusalem that would be built in the future when the Antichrist will come and set up his image. This will cause the daily sacrifice to be stopped a third time.

However, there are some who believe that the ending of the daily sacrifice in 70 AD fulfilled this prophecy in both Daniel and in Revelation. They refer to the fact that if John had written Revelation after the destruction of the temple in 70 AD, as some have proposed, that he would have been forced to clarify that he was referring to a temple that was to be built in the future and not the one that was recently destroyed. But the obvious conclusion to this is that he wrote Revelation before the temple in Jerusalem was destroyed, so that he was speaking prophetically about the destruction that was to soon take place in 70 AD. Jesus’ also prophesied about the destruction of the temple.

“Some of his disciples were remarking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said, ‘As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.’” Luke 21:5-6

THE TEMPLE DESTROYED, 70 A.D. - Bible Research

The Temple Solomon built was destroyed by fire on the 9th of Ab in 585 or 586 B.C. (depending on which biblical scholar is doing the research). Just 656 or 657 years later on the 9th of Ab in 70 A.D., the Temple that Herod built was also destroyed.

You can see that the destruction of the temples had God’s signature on them because they were destroyed on the very same day the 9th of Ab. Today, the Spirit of God does not dwell in a temple made by human hands.

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples made by human hands.” Acts 17:24

If you remember, the Lord said, “if you destroy this temple (referring to his own body), I will raise it in three days. (referring to the resurrection of his body.) Just as the Lord, being God, lived in his body, we receive God the Holy Spirit to dwell within our bodies! Because we are now the temple of the Holy Spirit, we the glory of God within us. The Lord said to his disciples:

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.  And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

“If you love me, keep my commands.  And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. John 14:12-17

So we are to bring glory to the Father through the Lord Jesus who also receives glory because of what the Holy Spirit does through us, his church. So the last two sentences of Haggai read:

The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, declares the Lord of hosts.’”

The glory of this latter house is greater because the Spirit no longer is confined to a physical stationary building, but is living within each believer. It is the church, with the power of the Holy Spirit, that can bring God glory.

“For in him we live and move and have our being.” Acts 17:28

The last sentence states that “in that place he will give peace.” Isn’t peace found in the hearts of believers?

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3

Now I have given one possible explanation regarding the end-times and the temple spoken of in Daniel chapter 9. There is of course the more popular explanation of an actual third temple in the last days being built and the daily sacrifices to be resumed, and another Anti-Christ to place his image in the temple in Jerusalem and cause the sacrifice to stop for a third and final time. However, John mentions no actual temple in the Book of Revelation, and he does not mention Jerusalem as the location of the placement of the image to be worshiped. So depending on how you interpret the 70 weeks prophecy of Daniel will determine whether or not there is a third temple.

Here is yet another passage about shaking which is so very similar to what Jesus said in the 24th chapter of Matthew. Isaiah is prophesying about the destruction of Babylon, but Jesus nearly quoting him, refers to these events as end-time events. If we use “Babylon” to represent the “kingdom of Satan” or “the world,” then we see that Jesus and Isaiah are speaking of the very same thing.

“See, the day of the Lord is coming—a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger—
to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it.
The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light.
The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.
I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins.
I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless.
I will make people scarcer than pure gold, more rare than the gold of Ophir.
Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place
at the wrath of the Lord Almighty, in the day of his burning anger.”
Isaiah 13:9-13

In the book of Revelation, Babylon is used in precisely that way- to represent the evil world system.

“After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor.  With a mighty voice he shouted:

‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’  She has become a dwelling for demons
and a haunt for every impure spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird,
a haunt for every unclean and detestable animal.  For all the nations have drunk
the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her,
and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries.”
Revelation 18:1-3

Even Luke records the Lord’s words regarding the end-times and the shaking of the earth and the heavenly bodies:

“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken.  And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.  Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”  Luke 21:25-28

Notice all these passages speak of the end of the age, at the 2nd coming of Christ.  The shaking of the heavenly bodies will come “after the distress of those days.”  The Lord will come to destroy his enemies, and to rule on the earth for a thousand years.

The shaking will be a fearful thing to the wicked, but for believers it will be a sign that our redemption is drawing near.

These all speak of a shaking at the end of days. But what shaking is the Lord referring to by the vision with the shaker lids? I believe that the vision of the shaker lids is referring to a shaking that is much more immediate.  I believe that it is in our near future, perhaps this year: 2023.  This shaking will be a shaking for the church to bring it out of its complacency.  Too many in the church do not fear God.  The church seems to have taken on the world’s values rather than being a godly influence to change the world. Many believers have taken the path of least resistance rather than the narrow road. There seems to be little difference between the average believer and the average citizen. It is time to get serious about our walk with God and to live to please him.

In the passage above that speaks of Babylon as the world system, these are the words that follow:

Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “‘Come out of her, my people,’ so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes. Give back to her as she has given; pay her back double for what she has done. Pour her a double portion from her own cup. Give her as much torment and grief as the glory and luxury she gave herself.

In her heart she boasts, ‘I sit enthroned as queen. I am not a widow; I will never mourn.’
Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine. She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.”
Revelation 18:4-8

We are told to come out from her, to come out from the world’s corruption, to come out from agreement with the world’s values. God often uses hardship and his judgment to move people to repentance. He wants everyone to come to him, and especially those who have fallen away to return. His desire has always been to show mercy, to reconcile and to restore. With the shaking that is coming, I believe that the Lord wants his church to re-dedicate their lives to him. But there are those who will only seek God when they need something. They are not interested in a life long and continuous commitment to him. Others will not consider seeking God, and so they will continue to ignore him and go their own way.

“All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations.”  Isaiah 65:2

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:8

I believe that the shaking will be personal to each person, because there was a variety of sizes of shaker lids.  The shaking may come in the form of lack, not having the essential things for life, as food.  The shaking may come in the form of sickness and disease.  The shaking may come as a financial loss, a loss of income. The shaking may come as a death in the family or as a natural disaster that destroys everything.

A Fireball

I remember a warning vision for our nation given to me years ago.  I saw a farmhouse with a tree in the yard.  It appeared to be around twilight.  Suddenly a fireball came out of the sky and was heading towards the house.  But it stopped suddenly just short of striking it.   It was held in midair so that I knew that something was holding it back. It was God’s hand, his patience, controlling his anger, giving us time to repent. This vision was given as a warning to move the church to pray for our country and its leaders. The house represents a nation as “the house of Israel.”  It can represent a governing body: “the House of Representatives.”  But the house in this vision represented the United States, which in God’s eyes was testing God’s patience with its corrupt and wicked ways.  I have had so many judgment visions, that I knew it was only time before God’s wrath would be demonstrated. However, I believe that my responsibility to the vision was to pray and share this message with anyone that might be willing to listen and pray too.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

Now, I believe that this shaking will come very soon. Those that take refuge in the Lord and are faithful to keep his word, I believe that he will protect and defend.   Although we must remember that the Lord never promised us a life of ease without tribulation–

“He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”  Matthew 5:45

““I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

David wrote several psalms about the Lord as his protector in time of shaking:

He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.  Psalm 62:2

“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.”  Psalm 62:5-6

“I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay.”  Psalm 16:8-10

“Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever.”  Psalm 112:6

So we need to prepare for the time of shaking that is coming, by trusting him with our lives and the lives of our loved ones. We keep you eyes on him, for he is the author and finisher of our faith!

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”  Isaiah 26:3

The Salt and Pepper Shakers

In this vision, I saw two slender shakers.  The white one was for salt; the black one was for pepper.

I believe that the salt shaker represents believers.

“For everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good, but if the salt loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again?  Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with each other.”  Mark 9:49-50

The first sentence tells us that every one of us will go through trials and testing.  That is what it means “to be salted with fire.”  Persecution and hardship is a form of shaking.  These trials, and difficulties are all designed to produce holiness and godly character in us.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”  James 1:2-4

Salt gives flavor to foods.  It is used to preserve foods that spoil easily.  Salt is also an electrolyte for the body and necessary for life.  Salt is so important that the Lord calls us “the salt of the earth,” and commands us to have salt in us.   We are to stand out, to be different, to bring seasoning to others.  To share the Lord with those who have no salt of their own.  But the Lord gives a warning as well:

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.”  Matthew 5:13

I believe that the salt in us is the boldness that comes from our faith in the Lord and in the presence of the Holy Spirit who indwells us.  If under the threat of persecution, we compromise our faith and deny Christ, we lose our saltiness.  If we are too caught up in the things of the world and have no time for God, we can lose our saltiness.  Without salt we become worthless, no longer be fit for the service to God, and we will be tossed out and become trampled underfoot.  This may be a harsh message, but we must fear God, and come to repentance so that we can live for him. He wants us to be overcomers, and we do that by submitting our wills to him.

We are to be a light to the world:

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”  Matthew 5:14-16

The pepper shaker, I believe, represents unbelievers.  They will be shaken as well.  It is always in hope that people will turn to God in their distress, and so be saved.  So the Lord in his mercy brings judgment and times of testing to all people so that they will have a chance to repent.  But at the end of the age, when judgment comes, those who have lived in defiance of the Lord and have refused to acknowledge the truth, and repent, will be destroyed and sent to hell.

This has been a very sobering message which I hope will convict each one of us to take our walk with God more seriously.  We cannot afford to be complacent or lukewarm in our faith.  God will not “wink” at sin.  The Lord died for all, but not all will surrender to his lordship and accept his death as a payment for their sins.

So if you have not been right with God, please do so today.  Please understand that to be born again begins with repentance, having remorse for your sins, and making a decision to live differently, giving up whatever has kept you from God.  Please pray to receive forgiveness of sin and new life in Him.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Dear Jesus,

I ask you this day to forgive me of my sins.  I acknowledge that you are God’s only son who came to earth to live and to die a death on a cross as payment for my sin.  This payment was made in your precious blood, it is a debt I could not pay.  I know that you died and then rose from the dead so that anyone who receives your forgiveness will also be raised with you to everlasting life.  I acknowledge that you are God and part of the Godhead, a Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  I ask that you write my name in the Book of Life, so that when I die I may be with you for all eternity.  Help me to live for you.  Fill me with your Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter who will lead me and guide me.  Help me to grow in grace and in the knowledge of God.  Help me to be the salt of the earth.  I thank you that today I have been forgiven, and born again, born of the Spirit of God.  Thank you Jesus.  I am yours and you are mine.  I will never forget this day and my commitment to you.  Amen.

Please share this important post with your friends, family and those that you know will appreciate these words. God bless you and keep you under the shelter of his wing!
