A Vision of Judgment and Mercy
Hi Everyone,
Praise the Lord! God is good! Today is a the Fourth of July. It is the nation’s birthday celebration. It has now been 246 years since we declared our independence from England. By the grace of God we are still a nation, though at the moment quite divided. We have those who would like to socialize our government and wreck havoc with our economy. But we know that all things are in the Lord’s hands. We must be patient and faithful to seek him on behalf of our citizens and our leaders. Even though there is turmoil and craziness around us since Roe vs Wade was over-turned and inflation and uncertainty abound we take our cues from God, who is our rock, our fortress and our deliverer! He is the foundation of life itself. Without him we would have no breath at all. Thank you Jesus for another day!
I have an important vision to share with you today.
The Vision
In this vision I saw the number eleven followed by a comma and the number twenty-seven: 11,27. I recognized the number immediately as being my son’s birthday, November 27. But of course that is not the meaning of the vision. I wanted to understand the meaning of each of these numbers independently, so I went to a Biblical source online, Bible Study.org .
So let’s look at the numbers separately:
The Number Eleven
The number eleven symbolizes disorder, chaos and judgment. Why? Let’s look at the number that comes directly before eleven: the number ten. It represents the law and responsibility, as in the Ten Commandments. We are given the command to be responsible to obey them. Those who follow the Lord’s commands will be blessed. Those who fail to keep God’s commands, apart from the atoning blood of Jesus, will face judgment. The number eleven is one step away from ten representing the law. Anytime we depart from God’s law it is sin; it is out of order; it is disorder and chaos. So from a Biblical perspective eleven represents disorder, chaos and the judgment which follows.
We have great examples of disorder, chaos and judgment in our nation and around the world. Wherever there is sin, and the breaking of God’s law, disorder prevails and judgment follows.
Unconscionable Offenses
In our nation, we have a president and a body of lawmakers that refuse to honor the very laws of the land. The president and various state officials refuse to keep the peace and are bent on destruction. They incite riots and bail out violent protesters. They refuse to build the wall on our southern border which was ordered and funded by the Senate and Congress and signed into law by our former President. They falsely accuse parents of being “domestic terrorists,” and they arrested those citizens that attended the January 6th Washington event.
I don’t know that many people are aware that those who were arrested in relation to January 6th have not been treated as US citizens, but have been denied legal representation. They have been held (many in solitary confinement), for a year and a half. Now the hearings have been suspended. When will these 800 incarcerated citizens held in Washington, have their day in court? When will they be released? Why is no one championing their cause? Their rights have been taken from them. Where is the right to an attorney? Where is the right to a quick and speedy trial? Why are they held without bond? They are isolated, and forgotten. Where is there justice to be found? Do they have to wait until the midterm elections are over? Do they have to wait for a new president before they can see the light of day? We must pray for these people.
My own relative could have been one of these unfortunate people. He lives far away from Washington yet was identified as one of those people at the capitol on January sixth. The FBI came to his house to arrest him. Fortunately, and by the grace of Almighty God, he had a photo of himself on his cell phone that proved that he was no where near Washington on that day. Hallelujah, God must have known that he needed to have his picture taken that day! God is good!
I can’t imagine him being incarcerated for something he didn’t do, and no way to even speak to an attorney, or have an opportunity to go before a judge. These people are still in jail, without bond, without representation, without even a date to go before the judge. They are simply waiting for someone to do something about it.
I thank you Jesus for protecting my relative. And I want to thank you Jesus, in advance of what you will do for these people who were arrested and held without the rights that are guaranteed by the Constitution. I believe this to be a great injustice. Lord, I pray that whatever is hidden in darkness comes to the light! Lord, expose the deeds of darkness, and let justice prevail!
This is what happens when those who are entrusted to obey the law, ignore the law and do whatever pleases them. This is utter lawlessness. It is gross sin. It is the epitome of wickedness. So many lawmakers have become wealthy by using their power to direct funds and receive kick-backs. They use their positions to get first hand information and to do “insider trading.” There is no lack of corruption.
“For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. By craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.”
1 Timothy 6:10
How can we trust Washington, when our leaders are so blatantly evil. They have no love or respect for the people of our nation. They simply believe that we exist to afford them a comfortable life.
“What does it profit a man to gain the world but lose his soul?” Mark 8:36
We can see that all the corruption in our government comes for one reason. Let’s look at this scripture:
“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.” Romans 13:1-2
By this scripture, we see that all authority is God given. The president that is currently in office was given to us by God. No matter whether he is good or bad, the Lord has given him to us. He is supposed to represent us, and to rule in our place, as having the consent of the governed. Yet, many feel that he is not rightfully our president. This does not change the fact that God has allowed him to be in office. We must seek God to gain insight and understanding of the events and circumstances of the day, from His perspective.
Could it be that under duress and the hardship caused by the policies of our government, that our nation will turn to God and repent? We hope so! I believe that this is one way that God reaches people who are going their own way and doing their own thing. We are an independent people and busy with our own lives. We want the government to work in the background, doing things that cause us to feel secure. We want our government to run smoothly so that we can each attend to our own businesses and take care of our own needs. This is how America has operated in the past, but that feeling of security and trust in our government no longer exists. The government has failed in the eyes of its citizens and it has failed in the eyes of the world. We can not be counted on to help other nations in need, for we are too busy making a mess of things at home.
But the Lord has placed wicked people in office. And it is our waywardness that has caused all this grief. Over the years, the church has become complacent.
We have allowed the local governments to convince believers that the separation of church and state meant that prayer could not be offered in schools. We have a coach, that knew otherwise, and we give thanks to the Lord, for this man’s diligence in pursuing his right to practice his faith in any location in the nation. We thank the Lord for the integrity of the Supreme Court justices, to render their decision to stand with the First Amendment giving the citizens of the United States the right to practice their faith unhindered by the government! Hallelujah! This is a victory for the entire church. I believe it has been accomplished through the prayers of intercession, directing our nation to turn to God. Thank you Jesus!
As we have presented our nation before God in repentance, we have been shown God’s favor as another victory which has come to the abortion issue. Hallelujah! And we praise the Lord again, for He is so good! It is God’s intervention that brought about this great blow to the abortion industry and to the sin of our land.
“If my people will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 1 Chronicles 7:14
Hallelujah! Our God reigns!
“But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” Amos 5:24
So we must continue in prayer for all fifty states to be empowered to stand with the Supreme Court’s rulings and to ban abortion in their own states.
Let us also remember to give honor to those in power, whether good or bad, because God establishes authority and he gives it to whomever he chooses. Let us stay faithful to God, and obey the laws except when they directly oppose God’s perfect law: to love God and put him first, and to love our fellow man.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
The Number Twenty-Seven
“The number 27 derives part of its meaning from being the cube of 3 (3 x 3 x 3).” Bible Study.org The number three’s primary meaning is completion. And when anything is repeated three times it gives greater emphasis or greater importance. In this case the number 3 (completion) was multiplied by three and then again by three.
Three also represents the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus had been dead for three days when he was resurrected.
He was crucified in the 3rd hour (9:00 am) and died in the 9th hour (3 x 3) declaring “It is finished.” This is the ultimate act of completion! Hallelujah!
“After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, ‘I thirst!’ Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished!’ And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.” John 19:28-30
The sacrificial death of the Lord was the completion and fulfilment of the scriptures. His death paid for the sins of those who have turned to him in repentance. His resurrection has paved the way for our resurection and our life with him throughtout eternity.
There is something else of which I was made aware, while reading about the number 27. The word “mercy seat” and the word “candlestick” each appear in the Bible 27 times.
When I saw the vision “11,27” I suddenly put it all together and understood that if 11 represents “judgment,” and 27 represents “mercy,” and that the 27 is separated from the 11 by a comma which generally represents a pause, then what I believe that the Lord was referring to was a vision that he gave me about 18 years ago.
Judgment, Mercy
I spoke about this vision in my last post. The vision was of a toy “happy face,” that was rolling down a hill. I heard the words: “Judgment, mercy, judgment, mercy, judgment, mercy…”
I understood at the time that the Lord was revealing his way, his order. When a nation becomes corrupt, and all its citizens engage in unbridled sin, when the chuch takes its cue from the world, and fails to hold to the commands and teachings of God, then He will bring judgment upon the nation. God is holy. He is good and his intentions and motives are good. He brings hardship and calamity in order to capture people’s attention and to cause them to seek him for relief from all their troubles. To those who come to God with a genuinely repentant heart, and a willingness to turn from their sin, he will show mercy. He wants to forgive, to heal and restore. That is who he is. He is good and his mercies endure forever! He brings judgment in order to show mercy.
So the eleven means chaos, disorder and judgment. The comma represents a pause, a time to reflect and to consider our ways. The pause is for us to come to a change - a definitive change in our hearts, minds and priorities. It is a time to repent of our sins and waywardness. The twenty-seven represents the mercy that follows repentance. Hallelujah!
God is good! He is wonderful! He is everything to me!
I want to make one additional point. There are 27 appearances of the word “candlestick” throughout the Bible. In the Book of Revelation, John saw seven golden lampstands (candlesticks) which represent the seven churches of his day. The entire book of Revelation was a vision given to John who was instructed to write what he saw and send it to these seven churches. It is the Lord who instructs him regarding the condition of the Church in that day.
“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:
“These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands. I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.
Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.” Revelation 2:1-7
There is no doubt that the Lord is concerned for the Church. All the letters to the various churches declared to them to repent of their sins, to be faithful to the very end, and to overcome the temptations of the flesh and of their culture. He speaks of the rewards for those who overcome: to eat from the tree of life, to have the hidden manna, to receive a new name written on a white stone, to have the morning star, to have authority over the nations, to have his name written in the book of life, to make him a pillar in the temple of God, and to have the right to sit with Him on his throne.
These rewards are for the ones who will have an ear to hear what the Spirit says to the churches and to the ones who overcome. The Lord wants us to be intentional in our pursuit of him and to be faithful to him until our very last breath. For let us always keep in mind that
“The fear of God is the Beginning of wisdom.” Proverbs 9:10
“For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God?”
1 Peter 4:17
In Conclusion
Let us seek the Lord on behalf of our nation and the lost people around us. Let us be who God has called us to be - his faithful ones. We are not to conform to the ways the world but to separate ourselves from the world and to help others find the Lord. Now is the time to seek God earnestly. Let us pray that our nation will repent, and experience the love and mercy of God, rather than the judgment that we all deserve.
