Some Trust in Chariots
Hi Friends,
I hope you are in good health and are staying close to the Lord. There is so much going on in the world, it can be a bit overwhelming. Today’s vision is about trusting God. This is really what our faith is all about, trusting the Lord with every concern we have.
The Vision
I saw the four legs of a horse within the frame or chassis of a trailer. My view was of the underside of the heavy metal frame, as if it had been rotated upward. I could not see the body of the horse but only its legs protruding from the underside of the chassis through its open frame.
What I believe the vision means:
As I thought and prayed about this vision, a scripture came to mind. It was this: “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” Psalm 20:7
The chassis of the trailer is a metal frame on wheels. Almost every type of trailer, commercial trailer or travel trailer sits on a frame or chassis. It provides the support for the wheels and axles needed to pull the box which is firmly attached above it. It is similar to a chariot, in that they both can have a single axle, and are pulled by either horses or a motorized vehicle. They both have some type of hitching apparatus.
The location of the legs of the horse in the vision is not at all correct for pulling a trailer, cart or chariot. The legs are protruding through the center of the frame where the box would have been mounted. The idea of a horseless carriage would seem to fit the picture better. For the legs of the horse were fairly close to the placement of wheels on a car.
A horse is a beast of burden, harnessed to a chariot, wagon, cart or trailer. The horse can take a single rider or pull a heavy load. It is an animal that performs work, a “workhorse.” And of course engines are rated by “horsepower.” We can compare engines by equating them with how many horses are needed to pull a certain load.
But getting back to the vision: we can easily see that the horse’s legs placed within the frame or chassis would not work well to pull the cart or anything else. The legs are separated from each other. And having the legs placed within the confines of the frame, restricts movement. So this vision shows the futility of this design. I believe that the Lord is showing us that we should not place our hope and trust in something that is man made: a chariot, a weapon, a tank… It is also futile to trust in an animal, (a source of power) or in a man, rather than trusting God himself.
We should be in agreement with the psalmist: “Some trust in horses and some in chariots, but we will trust in the name of the Lord,” Yes, we will trust in the name of the Lord.”
This is the main theme of the vision. God wants us to stop all of our worrying. We are not to entertain thoughts that create anxiety and fear. Instead, let’s trust in God alone, for “with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
We are living in very volatile times. For over a year, we have been experiencing a continual barrage of emotions, fears, political changes and cultural upheaval across our nation. I can say that in my lifetime, I have never seen a time with more stress. With the change in leadership in the White House, our country went from a position of power and stability to a position of weakness and incompetence. The world looks on and wonders, “Can we trust the United States?”
Politicians and leaders speak from both sides of their mouths. They give unreasonable lies, and expect that their constituents are incapable of seeing through them. So they continue to lie, and hold fast to their leftist goals. There seems to be a complete void in competent leadership.
We may ask ourselves, why is this happening to us? Why do we have leaders in government that are so wicked and care nothing for the people? Why are law abiding citizens treated with contempt, while criminals and bad actors are given the red carpet? Why do our leaders make decisions that place American citizens at risk and give large pharmaceutical companies and hospitals huge profits? Why do are our leaders impede the supply of American oil, and instead look to totalitarian regimes to supply us with the same, driving up the cost of fuel and funding terrorism? Instead of being energy independent and strong, we are weak and dependent on our adversaries. Inflation that results from these policies harm those that live paycheck to paycheck. Are they for us or against us? To whom have they sold themselves?
Well, there is always a reason for things. And I believe that we need to look to the Lord and his word for the answer. For thought and discussion, let’s begin with this scripture:
“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.” Romans 13:1-2
By this scripture we understand that the leaders in the White House, the Congress and all the various government agencies, (the FBI. the CIA, the Dept. of Justice, the IRS, the Dept. of Defense, the Dept of Homeland Security, etc.) have been placed over us, because we deserve them. God has given us these leaders for a reason.
I believe that we are reaping what we have sown. We have not been faithful to the Lord to obey his commands. As a nation we have not upheld the laws of God, written in his word. We have walked away from God and have shown him contempt and rebellion by both our actions and failure to act. We have tolerated wickedness and not called out corruption.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” Isaiah 50:20
Abortion
Through neglect, or apathy, we have allowed our nation to legalize abortion. We have killed millions of our nation’s children. Where was the church when these decisions were being made?
Why is the church silent? Is there an unwritten agreement with the culture?
Are we afraid to speak out for fear that someone may get offended?
Did we accept the lie that we are merely terminating a pregnancy, not killing an unborn child?
Are we justifying the abortion, saying that it is better for a child to be aborted than to be unwanted?
Do we choose abortion because it is preferred over the inconvenience, that children may bring to our lives?
Do we abort a child because of concern for the world’s “excess population?”
So, where do we stand? Where does God stand?
Are we in rebellion against God or do we support God’s holy and righteous ways?
One thing we know for sure: “Thou shalt not kill.” Exodus 20:13
We have not stood with Israel
Years ago, the Lord gave me a vision demonstrating his fierce anger because we, the United States, forced Israel to give up its inheritance, the Gaza Strip. What came as a result, was the hurricane season of 2005.
I decided to include this vision here:
October 21, 2005 - Vision of Judgment - Pressuring Israel to give up the Gaza Strip
I am again concerned for our nation for we have now added injury to insult. It seems most of our country as well as the Church is oblivious to the peril we are in. Saturday night, I was praying and asked God to speak to me. I opened to Obadiah. I read it and did not understand.
The next morning, while in prayer, I received a vision that showed two sanitary pads one with fresh blood and the other with a single clot of blood. There was a voice comparing the two ending with: “And now this!” I then saw in white letters on a black background; “Obadiah.” God was telling me to read Obadiah once more. Then, I understood.
Obadiah was declaring God’s judgment upon Edom for continually seeking Israel’s demise. The Edomites were Esau’s descendants. Esau was of course Jacob’s brother who sold his inheritance to his brother for a bowl of soup. He had no regard for the covenant relationship he had with God by way of Abraham and Isaac or for God’s blessing on his descendants or for the “Promised Land,” which God had given to Abraham his grandfather. This single act of ingratitude caused God to say, “Jacob I loved—Esau I hated.” (Romans 9:13 referring to Malachi 1:2-3)
Our nation, along with other nations, has become like Edom. We have sinned against God and aroused his anger toward us, by pressuring Israel to give up a portion of their God given inheritance — the Gaza Strip. We have brought upon ourselves a curse. Speaking to Abraham— God declared, “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.”
God showed me our nation’s sin as blood on sanitary napkins because a woman’s menstrual cycle is often referred to as “the curse.”
The fresh blood represent the sins of our nation: abortion, sexual immorality, violence, self-indulgence, materialism, and lack of concern for the poor.
The sanitary pad with the single clot of blood, represents an old grievance. We have sinned as the Edomites did, by trying to take away the inheritance of the Israelites. We have exposed an old wound. That is why God intends to show his wrath in even greater ways, for he said in my vision, “And now this!”
I have heard government leaders say on television, regarding New Orleans, “We will rebuild!” I heard another say, “We will make this city like a New Las Vegas!”
God sees things differently, God speaks out through the prophet Malachi:
“Edom may say, ‘Though we have been crushed, we will rebuild the ruins.’ But this is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘They may build, but I will demolish. They will be called the Wicked Land, a people always under the wrath of the Lord. You will see it with your own eyes and say, “Great is the Lord—even beyond the borders of Israel.”’” Malachi 1:4-5
It is imperative that we pray earnestly, for our nation to turn back to God.
This vision I received 17 years ago; we have not learned a thing! We are grieving the Lord once again. Our current president is attempting to take us back to the days of Obama and the Iran Nuclear Deal. This is a deal that will threaten Israel, and embolden her enemies. By contrast, our former president, Trump, blessed Israel with the Abraham Accords. He also did what others promised but failed to do: move the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This was a declaration and an acknowledgment of Jerusalem as the historical and lawful capital of Israel. But with our current president, things are not going well...
Unfaithfulness to God
America is a hedonistic and materialistic nation. We are a nation of consumers. Our economy is based on providing goods and services to our own people. The goods we purchase, are manufactured outside the country. We want the best, we buy the best, and we are impatient and angry when we don’t get the best. We are self-absorbed and self-indulgent.
Where is God in this picture? Where are the thankful hearts?
God has put up with our sinful ways and our idolatry for quite some time. I have received many, many warning visions which I have shared over the years. But God is now bringing judgment and discipline for our actions.
Our nation suffers now because we have not been faithful to him. We at one time were a Christian country, with a great majority of people professing to be believers, and faithful in their Church attendance. But today, our young people do not know the Lord, and have no desire to get to know him. Our fifty and sixty somethings are divorced, and living with a partner. How many people do you know, who once went to church faithfully, have now stopped going? We know that in the last days there will be a great falling away. Is this the beginning? What happens when the heat gets turned up? How many will fall away then?
Unfaithfulness to God is expressed in complacency, apathy, and a lack of commitment. People today are not willing to commit to anything or anyone. They are solely committed to pleasing themselves.
How many people do you know are divorced? How many people do you know refuse to marry, simply because they do not want to commit? Most women still would like a husband, but men prefer to keep the relationship loose. Some will agree to marriage, just to maintain the status quo, but never intend to tie the knot.
How can we commit to God if we cannot commit to each other? The Lord likens our love of self, love of independence, love of things, and love of pleasures with idolatry. In fact, anything we place greater value on than God, becomes an idol. Our time, our jobs, our pastimes, our kids, our romantic entanglements, our egos, can all be idols. And idolatry, the worship of things, people, and pleasures, alienates us from God. If we are believers, he looks upon us as his bride. Either we are faithful and obedient to his teachings and devoted to following his ways, or we are an unfaithful bride, who goes her own way and does her own thing. In this willful self directed way, we commit adultery against God.
“You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” James 4:4
We need to repent of any idolatry in our lives. We need to repent of having “other lovers,” things and relationships that we put ahead of God. If we don’t go to church because our husband wants us to stay home, then we have placed our husband ahead of God. If we don’t bring our children to church because “they have a game,” or “they need their sleep.” or “they just don’t want to go,” then we will reap what we have sown. We will have sown seeds of unfaithfulness.
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Galatians 6:7-8
Now, to return to the vision, the Lord wants us to see the futility of placing our hope and our trust in chariots and horses. Placing our hope and trust in our investments, in our jobs, in our education, in our money, talents and abilities, or even in our nation’s leaders, is futile. People, things, and circumstances can change overnight. But our Lord is steadfast; he never changes. We can count on him, for he is faithful. He is eternal. His kingdom is everlasting. All we need can be found in him.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your path.” Proverbs 3:5-6
Part of trusting the Lord is being able to take our thoughts, and fears captive. Many people have had a steady diet of fear. The fear of sickness, of disease, of Covid, of loss of work, loss of business, and inflation. Others are fearful of the overreach of government, and the loss of Constitutional freedoms. Some are afraid to walk on their streets because of crime, violence, and anarchy. Others are dreading the thought of our nation becoming involved in another war.
Fear is something that we must overcome. Jesus said,
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:25-34
So when we begin to get a threatening thought, or an anxious thought, take hold of it. And declare, “I choose not to allow myself to be fearful about this. I choose not to worry or fret, but instead I ask you Lord, “How should I think of this? Lord, show me your perspective. Help me to trust you for my needs. Help me to believe that you will have your way in my life. Help me to be content in all things.”
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
The more time we spend with God, the more we are able to trust him. We are told to:
“Build yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God as you await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you eternal life.” Jude 1:20-21
And remember:
“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, because God the Lord is the Rock eternal.” Isaiah 26:3-4
Hallelujah!
I would like to close with a great passage of scripture, which I hope will bless you!
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you without money, come, buy, and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost!
Why spend money on that which is not bread, and your labor on that which does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of foods.
Incline your ear and come to me; listen, so that your soul may live.
I will make with you an everlasting covenant—my loving devotion promised to David.
Behold, I have made him a witness to the nations, a leader and commander of the peoples.
Surely you will summon a nation you do not know, and nations who do not know you will run to you.
For the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, has bestowed glory on you.”
Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.
Let the wicked man forsake his own way and the unrighteous man his own thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that He may have compassion, and to our God, for He will freely pardon.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return without watering the earth, making it bud and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, so my word that proceeds from my mouth will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and it will prosper where I send it.
You will indeed go out with joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
Instead of the thorn bush, a cypress will grow, and instead of the brier, a myrtle will spring up; they will make a name for the Lord, an everlasting sign, never to be destroyed.” Isaiah 55
