A Nation Divided

Hi Friends,

I hope you are well.  I have been praying for so many relationships that are on the rocks lately.  And I have also seen an increase in the need for deliverance.  God is the only one that can bring about  the necessary changes in people’s hearts and minds.  He is the one who moves mountains and transforms lives.  But God lets us participate in what he is doing through our prayers and through fasting.

God gave me a six-piece vision that I would like to share with you.  Please read this in its entirety because the last piece of the vision is most important, dealing with our nation.

The Vision

First I saw what resembled pieces of white paper cut into ½” squares.  They were in the air, like a swarm of tiny insects.  But because they were like paper, they flickered from one side to another so that they caught and reflected light.  They didn’t fall to the ground but stayed suspended in the air.

Then I saw drawn on the driver’s side window two X’s in red, with a horizontal line about 15” in length connecting the two X’s.  I heard the directions given: “Hit the window and break the glass.”

Next I found that I was kneeling on a flat board or plank ¾” thick.  It was about 16” wide and 48” long, and finished in black.  I was frustrated, and even angry because it didn’t move, as it should.  So I took a white plate and held it in both hands, by its rim.  I took the plate overhead and pounded the plate’s edge as hard as I could into the wooden board.

Next I found myself viewing a scene, in which I was on my hands and knees, looking at a miniature town.  The buildings were so small they were about the size of the hotels in a game of Monopoly.  I appeared as a giant by comparison.

Then I saw a nickel, with heads facing down and tails facing up.  The backside of the nickel showed the image of Monticello, Jefferson’s home, and the words “E Pluribus Unum”  which means “Out of Many, One”  The image of Monticello was upside down.

This is what I believe the vision means:

The White Confetti

I believe that this confetti was suspended in the air, as a wonder, something that was not natural, Yet I thought at first, that I was seeing some type of insect.  Moving closer, I could see no natural live bugs, only what seemed to be flickering paper.

As I considered this vision, I was reminded of an object lesson about salvation, given on a retreat.  On the first night of the retreat, we were asked to write down every sin for which we wanted God to forgive us, on a 3”x 3” piece of paper.   I filled both sides writing as small as possible to squeeze in all of my sins.  We took these tiny papers and folded them ever so small and pierced the paper with a straight pin.  Then we walked up to the front of the room where there was a foil-covered Styrofoam cross.  We took the pin and the folded paper and pinned it to the cross.  Then we prayed as a group for the Lord’s forgiveness.  The cross was ignited and the lists of our sins were destroyed.  It was a turning point in my life.  In tears, I experienced the Lord’s salvation.  “As far as the East is from the West, so far has he removed our sins.” Psalm 103:12

“For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”  Jeremiah 31:34

The tiny white squares that were flickering in mid air, I believe represent the Holy Spirit as a gift to each of us who receives the Lord’s forgiveness and salvation - for all who are born again.  They were a wonder to me in the vision causing me to draw close.  Just as Moses saw the burning bush, and drew close to look, this is God’s invitation to all, to draw close.

The Two Red X’s and the Line

The instruction given was “Hit the window and break the glass.”  Several years ago, I had a vision of a row of various animals standing outside the church.  Many had antlers or horns like those of goats and deer.  The animals were preparing to break through the wall of glass along one side of the church.  They acted in unison rearing back and then striking the glass attempting to break it and have access to the sanctuary.  I was standing inside the church, noticing that the ground was shaking all around me.  I knew the glass was holding.

This older vision, was showing us that there would be a great shaking, and an attack against the church.

The vision of the X’s with the instructions to “Break the glass,” is a command not from the darkness, but from God.  We as intercessors, pray to break through any opposition from the enemy.  This is God’s command.  We are his soldiers, and we are to fight with the spiritual weapons that the Lord gives us.  “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”  Ephesians 6:12

How do we break through?  The battle is not ours, but the Lord’s, and we must be careful.  The Lord spoke to me clearly one day, “Do not go where I have not sent you.”  We are to only do what He instructs.  If he says to “Break the glass,” we need to seek him for the details.  I believe that when we are focused in our prayer, in close fellowship with the Lord, seeking his will, living to please him and fasting for breakthrough, as well as declaring those things that are not as though they were, we will see God’s awesome power displayed, for his glory.  Breakthrough comes with expectancy, faith and obedience.

So, seek God.  He will show you how to break the glass and anything else that hinders his work in your lives and the lives of those for whom you pray.  Let’s believe him for mountains to be removed and cast into the sea!

The Black Plank, and the White Plate

As I had mentioned earlier, I have been praying for some very serious situations in relationships, in lifestyle sin and bondage, and concerning sickness and disease. We are living in a difficult time.  “At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.  Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”  Matthew 24:10-13

The black plank that I was kneeling on, I believe represents all the sins, and diseases, and lies that keep people in bondage.  I wanted it to move.  I wanted it to respond to my command.  I was frustrated and angry that it was not moving.  The white plate I believe represents God’s ways.  After the vision, I thought of the action of raising the plate over my head and pounding it against the black board or plank.  The action reminded me of Moses becoming angry with the Israelites and breaking the stone tablets on which were written the Ten Commandments.  I was also reminded of Jesus over turning the tables and making a whip, driving out the money changers from the Temple of God.

We need to love what God loves and hate what he hates.  We have to identify with him and with his purpose, and with his ways.  Again it is with and through prayer and fasting that we move the things that need to move.  We say: “Sickness - leave in the name of Jesus!  I command disease to loose her in the name of Jesus!”  We are given authority as children of God.

“Whatever you bind on earth is bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth is loosed in heaven.”  Matthew 16:19

Jesus said, “Whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”  John 14:12

We must pray to be lead by the Spirit.  Ask God to use you in intercession and as he directs.  We must push back the darkness, declaring:  “All darkness over this ______ must flee, in the name of Jesus!”

Please make sure that there are no “open doors,” (unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or resentment), in your life that would make you vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy.  You must not go where the Lord is not leading you.  We want no casualties!  Yet - “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”  1 John 4:4

The Tiny Town

In the vision, I found myself looking at a tiny town.  I was kneeling low, with my head near the ground.  This position is a position of prayer, as well as a position giving honor and respect to an authority.  It is also a position of humility.  In order to see what God would have us see, we must humble ourselves before him, and be willing to take a lower position.  We must not care about what others think about us, we must simply look to the Lord for his approval, and no one else’s.

As we humble ourselves and seek God, in submission to his authority, he will speak to us. We can ask the Lord to show us something, or to take us up higher, or to help us see things as he would see them. When we seek God, we are actually asking him, to allow us to come close.  I have seen dogs, show humility when they lay down on their stomachs and slowly inch forward a bit at a time.  They show their desire to come close, but know that they must respect the person who grants them permission.

“Humble yourself before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”  James 4:10

The tiny town represents those around us: our friends, and family, our community, our nation and even the world.  These are the people and their circumstances for which we pray.  We need to get God’s perspective on these situations to pray according to his will and his good pleasure.  “My ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts than our thoughts,”  Isaiah 55:9

Through words of knowledge, he can tell us how to pray for the situation. A couple I know were in the hospital with one of their extremely handicapped children. The child was in serious trouble, struggling to survive. As he was praying for his son, the Lord spoke to him, he said, “What you are doing is not enough.” Suddenly, he was baptized in the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues for the first time. He son’s condition, immediately improved, and he was healed. God is faithful and wants to show us his favor, his love, and his power.

Thank the Lord that he gives us his Holy Spirit to pray through us when we really don’t know how to pray.  God commands us to “Pray in the Spirit on all occasions.”  Ephesians 6:18

The Upside Down Building

The nickel was showing the tail’s side up, which I thought was the image of the capitol building where the United States Congress meets.  But I was wrong.  The image on the backside of the nickel is the home of President Jefferson, called Monticello. Just the same, this is not a particularly “good” vision.  When a flag is flown upside down, it means the country or the place over which it is flown is in distress.  It means “send help.”  God is letting us know, that we are entering a new season when there will be a change in the balance of powers, and that we should expect a period of distress.  I believe that the conflicts we have seen these past two years will increase.  There will be little to no cooperation between the parties, and between the branches of the government.  Everyone in the nation will feel the strain, and the stress.

I believe that the government and its leaders all need our prayers.  This is a heads up from God, saying,  “PRAY!”

As I  was praying about this portion of the vision, I received another vision, which told me what I needed to do.  I asked the Lord, “What should we know about this?  What should we do about this?”

The Lord gave me a vision of this number:  “11:11.”    11:11 Is an urgent call to prayer.   There are four digits all the same.  Years ago, I asked God, if he wanted me to stop whatever I was doing and pray, would he please show me three matching numbers in a row, like 444 or 222.   But, any time I see four numbers in a row, it shows the greatest urgency.  After a while, I told him that I would pray even if he show me 2 numbers that are the same.  Like 55 or 33. When we walk with God, we will see the importance of praying continually.

So the Lord wants us to simply pray for our nation, our government and our leaders.  “Pray without ceasing.”  1 Thessalonians 5:17

Amazing!  Lord you are amazing!  I knew that God wanted me to pray right then and there about this portion of the vision.  So I began to pray again.  After some time, I asked the Lord if he would confirm his message about our nation.  I do not want to share anything that the Lord has not confirmed with me.  So, I asked him if this vision is about the division between the major parties, and how we perceive the issues of the day, would he show me the word “division” or “divide.”

Then  I grabbed my favorite book, (other than the Bible of course!), My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers, and just opened the book.  My eyes fell upon the devotion for August 19th, entitled “Self Awareness.”

These are the words that I saw:

“Never allow anything that divides or destroys the oneness of your life with Christ to remain in your life without facing it. Beware of allowing the influence of your friends or your circumstances to divide your life. This only serves to sap your strength and slow your spiritual growth. Beware of anything that can split your oneness with Him, causing you to see yourself as separate from Him.”

You can see how God confirmed to me that the upside down building and the words “E Pluribus Unum” together shows that our country will not see social or political peace and unity but instead, there will be distress, disunity, discord, and unrest.

Jesus said, “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand, If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”   Mark 3:24-25

Lincoln began his “House Divided” speech on June 16, 1858:

“‘A house divided against itself cannot stand.’ I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved—I do not expect the house to fall—but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other.”

So I believe that the divisiveness that we have seen displayed in the activities and opinions of those in the government, those in the media, and the socially elite is going to become even more pronounced.  The rebellious attitudes that the people in our nation possess and promote which undermine respect for the God-given authorities and which lead to defiance of the laws of the land, will cause this nation to suffer by coming under God’s judgment.  I would refer you to my earlier post:  Judgment…Mercy…Judgment…Mercy

The Lord is asking us to  pray and intercede on behalf of our nation.   This is the Lord’s promise to  us:  “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven.  I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.“ 2 Chronicles 7:14

Someday I will share a vision God gave me regarding America.  If we pray for our country and its leaders right now - each and every day -  it can make a difference in the outcome, and the future of our land.

The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy to instruct him:  “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all the people--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”  1 Timothy 2:1-4

Thank you for reading and praying.  Please share this with someone you know who will appreciate it and will also pray.  Be ever blessed!
