Seeking Wisdom

Hi Friends, I believe this vision has come in response to a prayer for a friend and her mother. The theme of so many prayers lately is asking for wisdom, discernment and words of knowledge.  It seems that the enemy has been turning up the heat lately.  There are many in the body of Christ that are being attacked by the wicked one.  Last night’s prayer and a prayer earlier in the day for two different  families, were both about  asking God for wisdom to deal appropriately with these difficult situations.

This seven part vision addresses the questions: “What are we to do?  How should we respond?  What is your plan?  How should we look at this?”   God gives us wisdom, discernment, authority and a whole lot of help!  Our part is to wait upon him, follow where he leads, respond in obedience, and trust him for the outcome, and his perfect timing.

This is the vision:

First, I see a large room, I believe it is a retirement home or residence.  However, the people are all different ages, including children.  I can see that the people are from different nations because of the clothing they wear. The room is filled with rows and rows of books, like a huge library or a bookstore.  There are no walls to be seen, because the books and bookshelves continue in all directions.  Everyone is reading while standing up.

Next I see a cluster of men dressed in military uniform.  They are wearing forest green camouflage with boots and berets.  They are holding heavy rifles with both hands.  The rifles are vertical, pointing upward.  They cock their guns all at the same time.  This is not a practice or drill, because they are not lined up in formation.  This is in preparation for battle.

Next I see a white bulldog in my bedroom.  The dog is on a leash with someone holding it.  There are a few articles of clothing, on the floor, that I recognize are mine. The closet door is open and it seems that they are looking for something.

Next I see a man, a deacon from our church, standing in the office waiting area, giving instructions to a woman and a young girl.

Then suddenly, I am outside the church.  I see a woman, I recognize as someone who works in the office.  She is driving a large black truck fairly fast through the parking lot, and quickly parks the truck, just outside the offices.  I can see the interior of the truck is well lit, and there are rows upon rows of books.  It appears to be a library on wheels.

Next, I am closing the door of a refrigerator, and my thumb gets pinched.  I can feel the sensation in the vision, yet there is no pain because it has a magnetic seal rather than an old-fashioned latch.

Then I see myself speaking with a few students or peers getting ready to take a test.  I realize, that I have never seen the textbook, I have no notes, and I have no idea what the test is to cover.  I decide to look for the instructor, so I go through a door that leads to an adjoining classroom.  The teacher is there.  She is a small woman with curly blonde hair.  I ask her for permission to go to the library and pick up a copy of the textbook.  She tells me that the librarian is not there, and the door is locked.  She says to me, “Amelia, you are such a good student, you don’t need the book.  You already know everything that is on the test.”  I was not so confident as she, not knowing even what subject the test covered..  I thought to myself, “Well, maybe I could “wing” a B, but I want an A!  I wish I could read the textbook.”

This is what I believe the various parts of the vision mean:

The Retirement Home/Library

In the first part of the vision, I see the extremely large building with rows and rows of books.  Everyone is dressed in their traditional clothing from their native country.  Everyone was standing while reading.  I believe that the building represents the end times, just as a retirement home is where many people spend their last days.  The books represents wisdom.

“Wisdom is supreme; therefore, get wisdom.”  Proverbs 4:7

“Jews demand signs, and Greeks look for wisdom.”  1 Corinthians 1:22

These people represent the end-time harvest.  They are like the Greeks (pagans) who look for wisdom.  They are seeking truth, and the answer to a fundamental question: “Who is God?” They are all standing because they are the harvest, that is ready.

“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  Ask for the the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”  Matthew 9:37-38

The Soldiers

The men in military fatigues with their cocked rifles are battle ready.  Waiting for their orders.  These men represent the angels that are dispatched in answer to prayer.

Years ago, while I was praying, God gave me a vision of twelve men (angels) that were in three rows of four.  The men in the first row had one knee on the ground.  The men in the second row were leaning forward in a split stance, with their hands on the forward leg.  The men in the last row were standing upright.  One of the men, an angel, in the middle row, looked directly at me and said, “We are on our way.”  I knew that these angels were being dispatched in answer to my  prayer.  God is good and God is faithful!  When we pray in a manner that engages the enemy, God is the one who directs and leads the fight.

“For the battle is not yours, but God’s.”  2 Chronicles 20:15

God dispatched an angel with a message to Joshua:  “Now when Joshua, was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man  standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand.  Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?”

“Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.”  Joshua 5:13-14

Then Joshua received the message from the Lord as to how he was to take Jericho.  His success over the enemy, and the destruction of Jericho, was God’s doing.  Joshua was obedient to follow all the instructions that the Lord gave him so the walls fell down.  But even after the walls came down, he was careful to obey the Lord’s command, “The city and all that is in it are to be devoted to the Lord…..But keep away from the devoted things, so that you will not bring about your own destruction by taking any of them…..All the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron are sacred to the Lord and must go into his treasury.” Joshua 6:17-19

When God dispatches his angels in response to our prayers, we must be obedient to everything he has told us.  That is why if there is one book, you should know, it is the Bible!  “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6

The  White Bulldog

The person and the white bulldog on the leash were looking for something.  The closet door in my room was open.  This again came as a result of my prayer last night.  One of the intercessors was experiencing an attack, as a result of our prayers the previous day.  My prayer after this discovery, was:  “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.  See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”  Psalm 139:23-24

This is an essential prayer to pray, I have seen casualties through prayer, when there was an open door in the lives of one of the intercessors.  So we asked God to show us if there was sin in our lives.  Have we caused someone to stumble?  Have we offended someone?  Do we need to forgive anyone for hurting us or a loved one?  We must ask ourselves often, because we cannot pray for others if we have open doors ourselves.

The white dog, was looking in my room.  My closet door was open. As I prayed about this part of the vision, I asked God is this open door something that needs to be shut in my life?  What area is still not submitted to you?  God gave me two additional visions to help me to gain clarity.

I saw a woman sitting in a yoga position in front of the door going to the office waiting area where we pray every morning.  She was meditating with her folded knees touching the door. I was on the inside, and did not open the door to her.

A few minutes later, another vision came.  I was standing by the same door and saw a woman approaching.  I immediately opened the door for her as I do for anyone who comes to pray.  I did not recognize her.  She had short hair and was carrying small cube shaped gift boxes which I didn’t  see until she was right at the threshold.  Without greeting me or looking into my face, she bent down and placed her “gifts” at the threshold.

God is faithful - he answers our prayers.  By these two visions he told me that yes, there is an open door.  I was aware of the obvious demon in the yoga pose.  I am aware of the demonic influences of the Eastern cultures.  So I did not open the door to this demon.  But to the other demon, I had opened the door.  She did not look threatening; she resembled an ordinary woman.  The “gifts” I believe are things that entice us to sin.

If there is sin in our lives when we pray, we not only expose ourselves to harm, but there is also the opportunity for loved ones or friends or the people we pray for to be harmed as well.  We must pray again, “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.  See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”  Psalm 139:23-24  We cannot afford to have unconfessed sin in our lives.

The Deacon with a  Mother and daughter

The deacon giving instructions to the woman and her daughter, represent those we were praying for.  It is important that everyone in the church is instructed about spiritual warfare, and about open doors.  People do not realize that unforgiveness, sin, idolatry and witchcraft in all its forms, open doors to the enemy.  This is why discipleship is imperative for every believer.

Library Truck

This brings us to the next part of the vision, the woman driving the “library on wheels.” I could see the urgency, by the speed of her car and the quickness in her parking.  She wanted to get these books into the hands of the people ASAP.   There are many books on spiritual warfare and on healing, deliverance, and walking in the power of God.  Even so, our intimacy with the Lord, is what gives us authority to overcome the wicked one in our lives.  “One day the evil spirit answered them, ‘Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?’  Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all.  He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.”  Acts 19:15-16

Knowing the Lord and being close to him, gives you that authority.  Knowing the Bible, is vastly more important than all the other books combined.

The truck that carried the library books, was painted black.  This represents the wisdom of man.  We have to be careful what we read, for there are many self-help books, and books written by Christians who may not really understand or teach sound doctrine.  Even though the woman wanted to get the books into the hands of the members of the church, it is far better to get scripture into the hearts and minds of those same people.  I am not dismissing or slighting the experience and knowledge that others have and are willing to share through books, for that is partly how we grow and mature as Christians.  As a matter of fact, God asked me to write this blog, and he has been faithful to give me visions about which to write.  But it is more important to know him and to know his word.  In the best Christian books that speak from the heart of God, you will see that the books will lead you right back to the source of all wisdom, and power - that being Jesus.

The Refrigerator

In the next part of the vision, I close the refrigerator door on my own thumb.  The refrigerator holds the food we eat.  This scripture came immediately to mind:  “May the table set before them become a snare; may it become retribution and a trap.”  Psalm 69:22

What we eat can cause us harm.  And what we focus on about health can become a trap.  We have to be careful right now, for there is much talk about heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, bone loss, cancer, etc.  And yes it is true, people are becoming sick and dying from these various ailments.  We call these health conditions that have their source in diet as “the metabolic syndrome.”

Where there is disease and suffering, there are those who truly care about people.  Many times these are nurses, who have been given the gift of mercy.  Often they are doctors who have love and compassion for their patients, and will offer services free of charge at clinics or on the mission field.  Then there are, unfortunately, unscrupulous people who take advantage of desperately sick, people. These so-called “health practitioners,” use unethical, unscientific health practices to treat sickness and disease.  They are not doctors - they practice divination.  They are to be avoided.  “Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them.  I am the Lord your God.”  Leviticus 19:31

This is a serious warning.  Remember King Saul, who couldn’t hear from God because of his disobedience.  He chose to visit the Witch of Endor instead.  He wanted to speak to the prophet Samuel, so he asked her to call upon the dead prophet.  She pulled up an evil spirit, pretending to be Samuel.  This is necromancy - contacting the dead.  This is an absolute abomination to God.  There are a few Christians who will talk with a deceased loved one and unknowingly, open a door to demonic activity.

I urge you to not go to “holistic doctors”  who practice “Eastern medicine.”  This is more than an open door - this is an invitation!   In all earnestness, do not read about astrology, or watch shows about the paranormal, or visit palm readers or those practicing acupuncture.  These are not harmless - rather they are deadly. There is a price that will be paid:  “Do not be deceived:  God cannot be mocked.  A man reaps what he sows.”  Galatians 6:7

Do not let your table become a snare.  Do not let your focus on health over-ride your focus on God.  God is the supplier of all good things.  “Seek God while he may be found; call on him while he is near.”  Isaiah 55:6

The woman with an issue of blood, was hopelessly sick.  She had spent all her money on doctors and treatments, but had no healing.  She would never have received her healing, had she not turned to the Lord for help.

In the vision, I closed the refrigerator on my own thumb,  I believe that God does not want us to become ensnared by focusing on nutrition, diet and health.  We need to focus on God, the great physician and healer.  We need to be most concerned for people’s eternal destination.  "In this world you will have tribulation, but take heart I have overcome the world.” John 16:33  This life is so brief, but eternity is forever!

 The Test

In the last part of the vision, I knew I was going to face a test.  I had no idea  what the test covered or even the subject matter. The teacher in the vision told  me that I was a good student, and that I did not need a textbook because I was already prepared for the test.  I was not so convinced - I still wanted to see the textbook.

The textbook, represents knowledge.  If you remember Eve, she was enticed with the idea that she would know all that God knew.  She believed that if she ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, that she would become like God. This deception continues today.

“‘We all possess knowledge.” but knowledge puffs up while love builds up.  Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know.  But whoever loves God is known by God.”  1 Corinthians 8:1-3

I believe this is where we can become ensnared.  If people seek us for the knowledge we have on a topic like nutrition, then we can become prideful, and want others to appreciate what we know.  "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."  James 4:6

It is better to know nothing as Paul, a highly educated man chose to do:  “For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.  I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling.  My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.”  1 Corinthians 2:2-5

Here we see that human wisdom is not valued in God’s eyes.  But when we yield ourselves to God, and through faith, allow the Holy Spirit to demonstrate his power through us, God is glorified.

In my prayers, lately, I have been asking God for wisdom to make the right decisions and to be able to understand my role in prayer and spiritual warfare.  I have been praying to know and understand the circumstances of the people for whom I am praying.

The teacher in the vision, was telling me that I already know what I needed to know to pass the test.  God  equips us for the days ahead.  We do not need to rely on the “textbook,” which may be  the sum total of our experience and the experience of others.  God wants us to rely on his presence, his direction. When the tests in life come, we remember that, "All things are possible with God."  Mark 10:27

"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.  do not be afraid, do not be discouraged."  Deuteronomy 31:8

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.  The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.  We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ.”  2 Corinthians 10:3-5

Only God knows what is ahead for us, what situations we will face.  But as long as we remain true to him, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors, through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 8:37-39

And we all said, “AMEN!”  Be blessed!
